Available Assistance Programs
🏛️ Virginia Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP)
The Child Care Subsidy Program helps eligible Virginia families pay for childcare so they can work, attend school, or participate in training programs.
Who May Qualify:
- Families with children under age 13 (or under 18 for children with special needs)
- Parents who are working, in school, or in job training
- Families meeting income eligibility guidelines (typically at or below 85% of State Median Income)
- Virginia residents

🎖️ Military Child Care Programs
We proudly serve military families stationed in the Hampton Roads area, including those at Oceana Naval Air Station, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, and other nearby installations.
Available Programs:
- Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) - Fee assistance for off-base care
- Child Care Aware Fee Assistance - Helps military families afford community-based care
- Navy Child & Youth Programs - Resource and referral services

How to Apply for CCSP Subsidy

Gather Required Documents
Proof of income, proof of work/school enrollment, identification, and proof of Virginia residency

Complete Application
Apply online at CommonHelp.Virginia.gov or contact your local Department of Social Services

Select Abundance Childcare
When approved, designate Abundance Childcare as your childcare provider

Enroll with Us
Complete our enrollment paperwork and provide your subsidy authorization

Begin Care
We'll work directly with VDSS for payment; you'll be responsible for any co-pay amount
💡 Important Notes About Subsidies
- Subsidy approval can take 2-4 weeks; we recommend applying early
- Most families have a co-pay (the amount you pay after subsidy)
- Co-pay amounts are based on family size and income
- Subsidy must be renewed periodically (typically every 12 months)
- You must report changes in income, employment, or household within 10 days
